Cabin Fever

It has been fun to watch the Giro de California with all the new colors of the team kits it feels as if I am watch WWF wrestling. Been building bikes some nice and others not so nice. Even got to build some for the Lemonds. The word is that the cold should break soon it has been in the negatives for days. More skiing and cycling to come think that I am the only one in the Lacrosse valley that is not going to the land of the sun for spring break. I could sure get me some of that Upside Out this spring.

  1. Has anyone around here seen Tim? Tim! Where are you? I swear he said he was going to be here...

  2. Maarrrrrcooooo . . .

  3. It must be getting close to spring; the weather forecasts are all over the place, and no where near accurate.

Oh wait, maybe it isn't spring... there's no racing to be had!

  4. Wow, that's nuts. I have no idea what I am doing for rides this weekend now . . . possibly snowy on Saturday, 58 on Sunday. Anybody for bowling?

  5. Out of curiosity, who would you beat up if given the chance, Carey Hart or Corey Hart?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I almost miss the Teton forum... could you imagine the arguing that would be going on right about now? Between cancelled races, races without women's categories, Tyler being excluded from the TOC, Dempsey's "mudd-butt", and so on!?

  7. I'd beat up Carey Hart. I mean Corey Hart is english AND wrote "sunglasses at night". But Carey Hart broke poor Pink's heart, and the constant "10-degree tilt" of his hat just cracks me.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That would be beat to get slammed on a regular basis on your own blog, that's why there's no Teton forum anymore. I can't believe what he has done with the ACA . . . rumors abound.

  9. I think Carey Hart and Pink deserved each other, I'm sad to see them split. Thank god there weren't any kids . . .

How about Corey Hart v. Corey Haim? Who would you hit in that one?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Corey Haim, hands down. Then I'd take the sweet wheelchair he had in "Silver Bullet", and ride off into the sunset on that thing!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'd beat up Corey Haim just because he's Canadian. Sad state of affairs when our strippers leave to work in Canada because their dollar is worth more.

  12. what's up bitches? i had an early meeting that just got out. TOC has been pretty epic.

  13. I was getting worried that I was the only one here. These absentee blog landlords give me the heebie jeebies. You'd think there would be some alarm about a sudden burst of comments.

Hats off to Scott Nydam. I remember doing the Estes Park Stage Race with him as a Cat 3.

  14. corey hart is canadian.

    ReplyDelete
  15. i thought he raced around but i wasn't sure if it was my imagination.

  16. New DVR finally arriving today, so hopefully I'll get to see todays TOC stage. The attempts at humor on the cyclingnews live feed are killing me

  17. Let's talk politics . . . what the? Who is this JCNA?

    4. JCNA letter of February 13, 2008
    · Requesting ACA "focus its efforts on senior and master issues,"
that it "not proceed with junior programs at this time."
    · Request tabled for consideration

  18. tomorrow still looks nice, maybe nordic skis will be the call on saturday/sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Nice try there Tim, you can't just default to the weather as a topic!

Using junior racing as a turf battle, isn't that like fighting over the kids in a divorce? Will somebody please think about the children?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Deep down, I really want to support junior racing, but I have had such shitty experiences with junior racing (mostly, almost entirely, on the parents side) at races I've worked, and even races I've just been a spectator, that I personally don't want to put any effort or dollars towards those people. It's probably the classic case of "a few bad apples...", but whatever.

I'll still root for that little kid riding a 10-speed older than he is, with a t-shirt and sideways helmet, before supporting those "baseball parents".

    ReplyDelete
  21. Parents involved with their kids' sports are usually messed up.

I would love to see more kids involved in cycling, but you don't have to throw them into racing right away.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seriously. I used to ride my bike ALL the time. I mean, you should have seen some of the "sick" jumps we made. Or just plain riding back and forth on the road. Or driving the parents insane by wearing tracks into the yard from endless trips around the house.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My parents used to send me on month long bike tours back in the day to get rid of me for the summer. I miss those days, that was some fun nonsense.

  24. I'm feeling pretty let-down that there hasn't been any mass-whining or protests about the newly elected CU president.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This totally counts as politics, right?

    ReplyDelete
  26. CU has a president? I figured there would be some sort of Grand Master of Parties or something. Do they still have classes there?

    ReplyDelete
  27. The new classes are all about the petroleum industries, including searching for new reserves.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh sweetness...

Here you go, Seth wanted some conspiracy stories on the satelite shoot-down.

I'm pretty much speachless, since I couldn't even make this stuff up, I'm not that creative.

  29. I think the School of Mimes has that well covered.

The sun is shining, it's not snowing . . . OK Tim, go!

  32. I'm pretty sure it is an elected position if you want to get started with your campaign.

    ReplyDelete
  33. junior cycling is too focused on racing. why not get the fatties out there and burn a calories instead of playing halo?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Do they still make any "actual reality" games that you can get out and play with your friends?

    ReplyDelete
  35. what? like soccer on capture the flag?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like "smear the queer", or dodgeball.

I'm thinking of putting together a kickball team for the league here.

  37. I like the picture of Blazer, or is that Lazer..

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nope, that's just plain ol' me...

As payment for being such a great host, you get to pick where we land tomorrow, and who's email box fills up with comments!

    So choose away!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Looks like that time is rapidly approaching. Where do we go tomorrow Devin?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I need to find the "I Know Black People" skit from Chappelle show to complement the vast knowledge of racial preferences I am compiling.

  50. California . . . the sunshine state . . . gorgeous, gorgeous! I'm glad I don't get paid $6k/year to take part in that suffer fest.

    ReplyDelete
