can't feel my feet

The group rode well today the goal was smooth and not totally freezing. The smooth happened but the freezing that was another story. I was cold from start to finish only warming up as I went up YY which was a good push with the gear I have on. I have debated something bigger which would make max speed on the flats higher but would destroy me on the hills. Regardless it has been nice to be out now just warm up so i don't have to deal with the cold. King Cages should be here this week, best ever if you don't have one you need to get some, handmade and you will never drop a bottle. The good just keeps on rolling in.

Recession is shit

If beer prices keep going up i am going to have to start sniffing glue. Sun was out and got a good amount of vitamin D. Spring is coming the say that the temps are going to be in the 40's all next week. Warmer is better and more is better just not when it comes to the price of my beer. I have been riding in my old now back up shoes while i wait for my good shoes to get repaired. Bring it on.

check your head

New skid lid today I like starting the season off with a new noodle top and this one is by far the nicest so far from Rudy. Weather has been a bit crappy and cold can't wait until the days get longer the outside stuff is really nice and now have a set of road wheels with a bigger gear for the single cross. Good food rest and more to come.

Don't want to know if you are lonely

Spring sprung a bit today so it was time to get outside. The weather man talked about rain in the afternoon so I went after morning espresso. Good weather good tunes and fast rolling, and my good old riding partner.....perfect. Some hills some turkeys and bits of salt. Took some new roads and made so different turns so I have some better ideas of rides to come. The weather guys is still talking of snow/rain but not till tonight. Now I get some pork ready for shredding so we can have soft tacos mmmm food. Spring froward is next weekend I am ready.

March On

Salt is evil, I took the kids road bike in today and ripped it apart and the thing was coated with salt and crud, and she barely rode in and crappy weather this fall. Just think what it is doing to my gas powered machines. Just got done putting the new bits on the Wily looks great still have some time before the Maverick makes it on, closer to race time. Need to take it in to the shop and lube and polish mainly lube. My ride is not going to be as light as all the new rides for the Grumpy Ogars Team at the shop but still dam nice. I look to the day when the new Wily comes not sure when but it will happen this spring. Small builder take a bit more time and with me states away I can't drop in. All will come. 40's tomorrow with good chance of rain so I am going to try to get out before the weather, rain is good it will melt snow and wash away the salt. PBR time go fast and then go faster.

Going up

A bit cold on the way in but it was worth it. No gas burned, with the way everything is going up i don't know how I am going to survive. Gas, milk, Bread and of all things beer, while all this goes up my pay check does not. What can a man do. With all the new things in I smile, more seat time will make the voices quite. Weekend soon and more to come. Throw more money at Beer.

Sittin' here in limbo

First ride in the new kit from Matt, 30 miles and the scenery never changed got to love new shammy's. More snow coming and I am almost over skiing last sundays 40 mile single speed ride has me pumped. Dam I wish I could go to the desert this spring, All good things in All good time. More to come... want to break some dishes not sure what that means but sounds like fun.

Snacks

Daycare is sick with the Flu so the boy and I are hanging at the house. Snacking is the key today, and what better than leftovers from dinner last night. Umm Curry and rice&veggies. I think that it must be hard to be a 3 year old lots of emotions, All i did was take a bite of his muffin it looked so go. oh well. Some swimming and hoops. New stuff has been showing up thanks to everyone the Thomson stuff is so sexy, and the hub for the Maverick looks more drilled out than ever. Sun Race has their new web site up and is just finishing a few more things so parts can be order, cool stuff. And last but not least Matt sent up a kit from his bike Club/Team out of new mex.. Nice stuff got to like new clothes. And I still 4 cups of Red Curry sauce left luck me.

Solo x Solo

Again I can't say enough about the curry that I ate last night. Anna and I would once a week eat take out from a spot in breckenridge and always get the Red Curry. That being said it did as it always did and that is power me up. Had a good chat with Sophia's old bike coach today, he had just gotten back from two weeks in Vegas which made me want dry and desert.
Oh well that was not going to happen. So with the warm weather and sun I was out the door and the ride was nice. Took the work horse out and went hill climbing two good climbs and some mean wind when it was all done 2.5 hours one gear and now some beer. Back to the skis tomorrow going to keep it moving with the dreams of single track in my head. Could a Fall Classic be on my calendered? Need to see some old and new faces. Until then sit wait work and watch the new stuff come in. Going up!

My Thai

Big ski weekend in Wisconsin, not for me. I did head out yesterday but did not last long. Right wax wrong temps and not to mention that the trails had been ravaged by runners and hikers. Look like a war zone with all the pot holes. So that on top of the fact that my skis were not moving I called it. Played with james he and i went on a hunt for lemon grass. When you can't find good food you have to make it your self. So I did found all the stuff and made Thai Red Curry sauce. The real deal I have longed for Thai food and now I have it. Made enough to last me a few weeks. I will probably eat it faster than that. I will now drink more coffee and decide where to point the single cross. Good food and cure the winter blues, When in the hell is spring I am ready.

Could Ya !!!!

So here we have our answering machine from work. The guy on the other end put a down payment on a Masi Special Fix Gear Bike and wanted to ask us if we could do a few things before he came in to pick it up. Good stuff here and it just goes to show how hard core some fixed gear riders are. The time stamp is off we think that it had to be around bar time. He came in on thurs like he said and acted as if nothing happened. Only guy in town with the his bike we have our eyes out for him. Best phone call ever!!!

Cabin Fever

It has been fun to watch the Giro de California with all the new colors of the team kits it feels as if I am watch WWF wrestling. Been building bikes some nice and others not so nice. Even got to build some for the Lemonds. The word is that the cold should break soon it has been in the negatives for days. More skiing and cycling to come think that I am the only one in the Lacrosse valley that is not going to the land of the sun for spring break. I could sure get me some of that Upside Out this spring.

Big Chill

Been skiing a bunch even on the days that they haven't gotten to the grooming. Lots of snow so much snow that people are freaking out it has been 20 some years since they have seen this much snow. Nothing new to us used to being buried in the white. At every intersection the snow banks are so high that you have to pull out almost to the middle just to see if it is clear to go. New stuff is on the way and sending off other stuff to the team. The Big Wheel kits are and should be on their way, they had a large showing down at the 24 of old pueblo. The Maverick forks and hubs are also so to come. Going to mix it up a bit between the stiff and not so stiff, getting old and my body can only take so much. Talked with the boys at the HQ more new stuff coming out of them and another bit of press in the new Bike mag. So off to work I'll put some stuff in the mail and try to stay warm again the temps are below zero and the wind chill is even worse. Yea for Rollers.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

And the race is on

Got done watching 24 solo. James got the itch to start doing laps. Can't wait to ride his new rig outside. That movie made me think that Craig was crazy to push him self that hard to end up in the hospital. Great ski this morning slow and cold right wax just wrong temp, felt like rolled up towels under the rollers. More snow on the way and dreams of single track in my head. Go check the guys a Twin 6 If you haven't it is time to step up and get some of the coolest cycling digs around. Plus they have new mouths to feed.

Pipes are Clean

With only one of these pretty ladies in the garage, I sip it and wait for the banana bread to come out of the oven. After a long day with waiting at the hospital the doc said that from what he could see every thing was clean. So now we wait a few more weeks and see if it was the 6MP. Stronger than I could ever think I was. Over 30+ hours of not eating. I can't make it 2 hours. 30 miles in one place wanting more. Snow tonight ski tomorrow. Falling in to place. Dammmm that banana bread smells good. Go Fast!

Heavy Circles

Wow that was cold, sunny but cold. Things should warm up and more snow on the way. The skiing this week was what I need and with more snow coming I think that I'll be back on the sticks. Want to get outside because the rollers are starting to get a little redundant. Today was just a nice recovery ride listing to the Velo pod cast. They had some nice things to say about Georgia and her success this year. She has been fun to watch and a good roll model for Sophia. Off tomorrow to take Anna in for a test at the hospital so if it warms a bit back outside if not back to the torture chamber

Saturday, February 09, 2008

Slippery when frozen

Hard ski is what the doctor ordered. Hill repeats with recovery on the flats. Skis were moving fast, again thanks to the groomers and Clay for the waxing help. The building blocks are falling in place, which is good when the bigger blocks start to fall. And with Wah in the area the tempo should be High. Good food and some points should help me to sleep, tomorrow brings some nasty weather they are calling for -40 wind chills. MMMM good weather for rollers and hoops at the GYM. Go Fast!!

Thursday, February 07, 2008

The duct tape held which made the ski good.
This kid is really shaking it.. Nice moves... Going to get cold again need to get the bike back under me.

Muck

My rant yesterday was a bit of a chairle brown
moment.
After looking up from the ground I realzed that you
just need to take it as it comes.
The skiing was good today with
the exception of the full boot blow out, left boot has no more
zipper so now on with the duct tape.
Movement is good keeps the brain better than being stagnaet and on
the couch.
I dont think that the spell checker on this computer works.
I hope spring gets moving because i am ready, build bikes look at bikes
I want to ride more ..
It is comming are you ready?
GO Fast!!

You are not what you own

Snow again,
so I gave skiing a try. It was ok
BLA BLA BLA BLA!
My head spins as i try to figure out the next move. Knee
deep in the quagmier can't get things right.
If life is what you make of it what have I done?
Work is not who you are just what you do, some more than others.
Jack of all trades and master of nothing. Rambling, point is
this move was supposed to make things better but $$ wise
same hole differnt view. Not sure what i have to do, don't want to give up the dream of
riding and racing but need to eat and have a roof over the head of those
who depend on me.
AHHH!!
It is like screaming at a wall!
Regradless spring will be here soon and then I can
get out and wear less clothes.
I hope you all have a super fat Tuesday.
GO FAST!!

faster than slow

Funny in a group how you can still be alone. That is fine, used to going at things solo. Lost a good biker today if you had a question he had an answer. Rest days don't happen to often and today is one can't wait to go to bed, belly fun and sleepy time it come. Left out well that might be the case but we will see who show up when it matter. Standing on the shoulder of giants we can see the wind blowing through the trees. Sticks are smooth when things are groomed.

Song #1 is not a FU song

I wanted to outside today, and I thought that skiing was going to be the ticket but still not sure about the conditions and driving to Winona, was not going to be happening. So ride a BIKE! I had so much fun yesterday why not. Took the single cross and headed north to find some hills. 50K in under 2 hours good fun, good times. Been listening to Man vs. Astro-man lately good stuff Garro turned me on to it years ago. For some reason I have the NHL ticket so been watch a lot of hockey been able to watch the Avs and the Wild and any other team on. Weather is going to do another weird shit here supposed to get freezing rain now ...Bull shit... Go Giants....

Oats for a Meal

Slower than I wanted but still fun to be outside. 3 of us showed up with the right weapons and the fourth came with a single cross and road tires. He did not make it for very long. Chad and I pushed on until the trail got to hard to spin on. The big wheels rolled well as long as they could stay on top. That seemed to big the big fight. Only went over the bars once it was a better option than going in to the ditch. Shit Happens............ The Wily handles the snow well But I think it likes dirt the best. Starting to get things into boxes to send off to the other two teammates. Skis tomorrow hoops tonight with the kid. Time spent now will help in the spring.. I hope spring gets here soon. The desert is to far away..

Fucted

I totaly forgot that the
temps on monday were
40+.
That being said I went for some
ski in the woods before work.
Bad Idea,,,the warmth of monday
and the cold of the past two I would have been
better off on ice skates.
It felt like skiing on a south facing slope
in April in the eairly morning.
Scary.
Not to mention that no monday
because it was warm every Yogger
and snowshoer in the
area were on the groomed trail
system. So come tuesday
their footprints were left frozrn in the
ground.
I think that as spring rools around I am gogin to
start riding my bike on the track at the
U.
Maybe get some kind of derby goging and
we can lay down some skids and fuck up their shit.
On a lighter note I had the pleasure of Clipping the seat and chain stays
of a Road Master. It was like a moment of Zen as the soft
tin can like frame squished ever so gentely in the grips
of a pair of bolt cutters.
Today I think that the sawall will come out so we
can cross section the rest of the frame. It will be
like an alien autposy.

Uno x Uno

Their has been a JRA theme lately so keeping up with the masses. I had a 1:30 appointment today so when it was over and the house was empty I headed out on the single cross for an hour. It was 47 degrees was not going to let this one go by. My body was happy to push the pedals even with all the skiing things were smooth. Glad to get it when i could things are going to change and fast. Hold on to your hats folks thing going to get weird.

????????

It is 8:40 in the am and
the temp is
40 outside.
WTF!
I knew that the snow was not going to be
as fast as yesterday,,, It started out
skiing well at 7 ish in the morning but as
my ski progressed it became
like skiing on crushed velvet. This
worked for today being that all I wanted was
a recovery ski to burn out the legs. But by the end it was more like work and
almost at times hard work.
Warm today with
chances of rain , then a mixed bag of
shit and back in to the freezer again.
This is fun right?
Hope all are well
mappy hunday
and
GO FAST!

Just to see the look on their face

Some of the best skiing for the year. just a bit under 20K and dam it was nice. I don't know if it was because the sun was out or the good condition of the trails but it was fast and good. The only issue was the winter rec fest golf even on the golf course part of the trail. Not the brightest people with there bags of clubs. Yesterday it was some tool that said" I don't like your bumper sticker" Which one? He had an issue with my Rondane French for can't Tele! I joked with him and he was pissy said that he was training for a rondane ski race, and I apologized for his lack of two plank knee dropping skills. Again great day in the woods all alone skiing solo, because that is what I do. Not part of any great big scheme. Rain may be coming here and snow out west. According to my brother in Taos, folks there are just tired for skiing in the best snow in years. More is on the way. Have fun and GO FAST!

Upside out

The skis really hooked up today, first and for most I need to thank Clay for the wax ability. I beat the groomer out today and there was a few inches of fresh pow pow to ski in. With the right wax and large numbers of K's that I have been skiing things moved well. Weather here is nutz after a week of frozen cold shit, now they are talking rain for monday. Can't get it together. The word on the street is that the railroad grade is to mushy for good travel and the roads still are to sketchy. So riding out of doors might have to wait. Make hay while the sun shines. Good food gets to the point!!

Friday, January 25, 2008

Let Your Self GO

" General George A Custard didn't
die with and honor
he died with shit in his pants"
Cold and slow was the tempo,
the wax was not sliding the way it was
supposed to.
I could only manage a 1/2 hour because it was so dam cold.
Left foot was a Popsicle I am dumping hot coffee on it
now just to warm up.
Friday oh sweet Friday,
the temps are going to rebound and
outside stuff should be better.
The efforts are
becoming easier as they stack up.
Question is what will happen now that
the Roy is back in the Midwest?
Bring it on...oh wait it has already be brought en!!
GO FAST!!

Onions

Layers , that was the call
for the morning. When it
is -13 and you are such
a freak that
you need to be outside layers are what you need.
The ski was good just not long the groomer must be down because the
trail was in different conditions. Hard work and
then their was the wax not right for the temps but still good to be outside.
Being out allowed me to listen to young angry white kids yell about
life. This got me to thinking, If you so dam cool and think that you are the shit
you should have something good coming out of your mouth
when your donkey megaphone is going off.
Talk is cheep and actions are louder,
what you have ....nothing?
Like I though just a bunch of hot air in a nice shirt.

Slip

I think that whole state is hungover in defeat. It happens oh well it was fun to watch. With a fresh blanket of snow another 8+ inches on the ground I can only think of skiing. Maybe an up ski on weds to change things up? Either way the inner nors man in me is having fun. Temps should rebound and I can get back out on the bike. Daycare was sick today so I got to come home early and hang with the kids. After an hour spinning in place we got to do some powder sledding or more like powder wrestling. Warm dinner and quite sleep full bellies and smiles. Morning brings coffee and two plank sliding. Hardman? Who needs it.. Go Fast!!

Green turns Blue

Cold but good, the ski this morning was great. The guys that groom are my hero's. The temp was 1 this AM and the snow was pure white and cold. With the right wax and music it was good work and good therapy to be outside. The next few days may be hard to be outside with the temps hitting rock bottom. I am ok with inside stuff as long as it is not everyday, I'll brave the cold before I hammer in the laundry room day after day.Pretty things grace my eyes as I wait for the final pieces. Soon all shall be together and winter will be over, and the spring will have sprung. Spinning and Gliding. Living the HIGH LIFE.GO FAST!!

Frozen Tundra

Snow is back but so is the cold. This should help the xc skiing once the temps go up. Still not as cold as back home. They were -17 this morning but they do have more snow. This weekend it is only going to get colder. Thought about commuting a little afraid of the drivers in this area and the way the snow plow work around here. Things may be in doors for a while.

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

wake up

Dam Tired, yea Tired, But inspiration has shown up in the shape of a sexy new road frame. Spent the day at work hitting it up with frame saver. And ,,,,paint job sweet, Pics will follow as the bike gets built up. I have a few more parts on the way and when it is all done I have a new friend which will help. The Lemond should stay in tact so i'll have a rain or crappy weather bike. Bikes sure make me happy. Some day when I grow up I am going to have one of these.

Monday, January 14, 2008

Long division

Some days are
better than others but the good ones are great.
Even with the lack of snow the trails
have been good.
This morning I was ready for some LSD,
but being the only one out and the
with the glide as fast as it was
I found my self pushing it a bit harder than
than what i had thought I had wanted.
Good weekend of movement
need to keep it up even with tired body.
This week the cold comes back with Highs in
the low single digits might bring things
back inside.
It is all about subtract and divide,
or is that divide and conqure?
Oh you know what tho do
GO FAST!!

Keep it out of my face

You give it away like free samples!
Good choice of weapons today, I love my mountain bike , and will miss it when it is gone , the new one will need some break in time. Road north no the snowmobile trails that are now close to machines because of the weather we had last weekend. Even though their are no hill the work was there. Between the snow and the ruts a good spin was needed. And a good spin it was. Some of the bridges were a bit tough because of the pot holes but that just gave it more of a dirt like feel. All alone no one else...sweet....
Skis tomorrow.. Pack now. GO FAST!

X Ray

White strip
of death is what we called the
early season in
the high country when only one
run was open.
Today it was for me the snowmobile
trails to get to work on.
Packed down and hard with lots of
ice. Keep the wheels spinning and you will stay upright.
Good to be outside has not happened since last year!
Could be worse I could be some kind of skittish freak that eats
doughnuts with a fork to keep my hands clean.
The green stuff is on the way,
and the good folks at Thomson are
send out parts for the road bike.
I love it when a plan comes togother.
Now just need to figure out wheels!
Have fun and GO FAST!!

Xpresso

Testing the limits of coffee. how much is enough or not enough. As the snow piles in the west we sit and wait, time for the blue get rid of the red the sun volt is past and normal should set in. What is normal still trying to figure that out. Still with the why did you leave, sometimes hard to explain. So listen and only hear what they want to hear. I know why and make it happen. Get your snorkels out and breath deep GO FAST.!

Rainy day monday

Global Warming
sucks!
38 outside and dumping rain
lots of rain,
what ever snow pack we had is going away.
It looks like
Portland outside and that
is not right.

Taters

What a Ski today. I was amped and ready to go. I had a fresh tune with red wax and a good brush in. It was warm from the get go 40ish and hard to ventilate. Bit over an hour and hard work with the mashed potatoes for snow but just what I needed. Lots of people out great to see,, What will the weather bring? Might have to get out the single cross and slog out some miles. Hope all is well out there and you are having a good 08 so far. Go Fast !!

Thank you for your interest in SSWC08. Unfortunately registration filled up prior to receiving your form. We had over 800 people interested and only 350 spots to fill. We hope you will still consider coming out to Napa, CA for the race festivities and to cheer on your fellow single speeders. There will be various rides around the Bay Area the week leading up to the race and afterward too, so it should be a lot of fun. We will be posting a blog soon to keep everyone up to date on what's going on. Thank you.
There is the fine print....Oh well Guess I
don't have to worry about
getting out to Napa!
Skiing was great this morning rocking out
to punk rock music and watching the sun come up over the bluff
was a good way to start the day.
Legs felling good even after all the intervals.
Weird weather still coming this way i hop for snow and
not rain.
Racing is comming and soon
their is going to be a cross race
in Virouqa on the 19th

Sliding and Gliding

Weather keeps changing it does not know what it wants to do. From Below zero to 40's this weekend, and they have even spoke of rain. Well this is making it hard to decide what wax to go with. Oh well pick the right one this weekend and the skiing should be much better than last saturday. Time to think Swix.

End

When it is all done and said it is over.
At times a whirlwind other
times smooth like silk.
New home far way and much lower than we
have been in years.
Good friends and family,
many hills to climb and places to explore.
Races won and lost
and more beer.
Health has been restored and
a new sense of happiness.
Can't ever tell who the midget
is going to be Buzz or Spiderman.
More growing to come.
Bring it on we are ready for what ever
or at least I hope.
This could be the year of Two Wheel Fun.
Bikes to be ridden fun to be had a good time

Not having a hard time living the HIGH LIFE

I stoled this from Stevil I think that it says it all!!!

faster than slow

What a difference a day makes. The wax was just right and the trails in hixon were perfect. The guys that do the grooming are doing an amazing job. It is all done by snowmobiles and in there spare time.A good hour of work the legs felt great. I am very happy that we have this here to keep the body moving. One day left. Then It all gets new.

Skiing Minnesota

Went up to Winona for a ski yesterday and I have to say that they do a good job. Lots of hills and a well thought out system of trails. I was a but screwed on wax the fresh coat that I put on fri was applied with warmer temps mind. Then to top it off after they groomed another inch of fresh snow came down, so it was slow going for a bit. Can't win them all good resistance i guess. It is almost over and another one is ready to start. The SSWC reregistration is coming soon would love to be there just a long ways out? More today..Ski it while it is here. Then the new bikes should start rolling in. Go fast.

Big lizzard in my backyard

Snow does
not want to stop.
Which is good because the
skiing
has been good.
going back and forth with work in the
chamber and on
snow.
Looking foward to spring
wanting warmth or just dry roads.
Need to keep the mind on
track.
Long hours will be on the way.
Which bring big smiles

Two sticks one goal

Great to see the woods today,,,lots of snow. They have been out dragging the and grooming but you still sink in pretty good. I need to stop being lazy and head up to Winona and ski, just got so use to not having to go far,,I know HTFU... Great holidays family health and happy. The kids all smiles and dam the food was good.. Shame I can't make a living as a food preparer. Road bike is on the way thanks to Gunnar and SunRace. Making all the need arrangements for the Wily Team. Can't wait the snow is fun but I am read for a change. Until then slipping and sliding.. Keep thinking about the commando run. County B to the top of the Bicentennial Trail and down? Not as cool as the one Herb and the boys back home use to do.

Deep

It wont stop. I guess it will be white. Now if I can just find a hill..

Trip around the sun

Bringer of the light. It is here the new day brings more. All starts off with a powder day I used to dream of having deep snow on this day, just not a big enough hill for swoohsing. The Nordic trails should be great once the snow stops and they get it groomed. Do I feel wiser? Probably not but i work hard last night to get to the point. The youngest one will have new wheels for christmas and now I am freaking out because the oldest is out growing her race bike .... Shit I thought that a 15 inch would have done it so now it is time to start thinking a bout something else. Drive safe have fun and watch out because it is here.

Knee Droping Skinny Ski Weirdo's

7:30 starts in the woods
and almost
need a light on
my head.
Good snow we could use some more
and keep the dam runners off the nice groomed trails.
Yes I know that it is a public trail but it is groomed for one propose
and that is not running go run some where else.
That being said
it has been nice getting to ski I
fell lucky yes I would love some life access flying through the trees
getting face shots but do what you can.
Sounds like the boys out west are loving the conditions
right now.
I read this morning that Taos is going to let snowboarders ride
what the fuck is that.
I don't want to piss people off but I thought it was
a skier only hill ?
Oh well I guess Alta is left
what is going to happen next?

King of the Hill

Back out on the skinny sticks this morning. I had already committed to it before I went and man it was a bit chilly. Only 5 for the morning skate session. It was good linking up a good loop with more time and effort. When I made it back to the trail head my jacket was all frosted over from the transportation. Good work >> Nice and quite the silent sports of winter in full swing. Speaking of full swing The older Brother chimed in today and said that his home town hill went from 0-70 inches of snow in about a week. I have not skied there but from what I understand it is the best in the U.S. when their is snow. As for me the local ski hill cost to much so any downhill lunge will have to be a commando run.

Out in it

I was able to get my inner Nordic on today. Temps were good for a morning ski. Did I say ski,,,,,,,,,,,yea out on snow it was what I needed. A bit of recon to see what the woods have to offer. The local Nordic heads do a great job keeping up this little gem. 7 k or there about smooth and pretty fast. My form was not that bad and all the gear worked well. Thanks go out to all for the hookups Coach for the skis good ol Hiel for the polls And BP for the Boots. I will miss skiing with all you good people. More to come I think that I will head up to Winona they have from what I am told some perfectly groomed trails at the college of ST.Mary. Just great to have something else to do, the boss man at work says "you should go running" I can only do that if chased or if the liquor store is closing......Wait I live in Wisco does that happen.

sink like a stone

Board............ I can't get excited about much to even get out of bed. It has snowed but the temps have not gotten over 10 so xc skiing is not on my list of stuff to do. The laundry room intervals have been good even though I broke a spoke on my front wheel. Who does that.? Even with new stuff on the way wont be able to do much with it. Cold and snow every where.. The boys back home are nipple deep in snow having a blast. With a head full of punk and tired legs I get to back to work because monday she comes "Fuck n A".

White Crap

Well it snowed here for a good while with 4 to five inches on the ground mutha nature decided to add some rain/sleet to the mix. So needless to say what could have been a winter wonderland became a nightmare. The boy and I went out to remove the snowizel and it was work. I have had to move a lot of snow over the past few years I even used to get payed to do it. But never any thing like this.Granted james is only 3.5 years and only 39 lbs but here he stands on top. So we get this all cleared and the douche bag slum lord shows up with his snow blower and makes some dumb ass joke about helping me out and this is after he helped out the other neighbors.. Looser.... The off season kills me once i can start XC skiing things will get better but one can only take so much of the laundry room intervals. Over 50 miles in the past two days and today was to be an outside day on the railroad grade, but with the layer of ice on everything I thought that might be the best idea. At least I got to move pounds of ice and slush/snow sorta of a work out. Sounds like the boy standing on the snow will be getting a new bike for Christmas. Now just need to figure out what to do with his other two. The trikester may have to stay because of how cool it is but the little 12" needs to go. If anybody needs a bike for little ones we have one two many..

Who uses salt?

First bit of snow is on the ground. Happy that I got out and rode mtb's last weekend. I am happy to have a warm coffin to get to work in when it is 13 degrees out and 20 mph winds I am a bit of a wimp. The Kid was stoked to ride to school today even did a dance. She only has under a mile to go, we'll see how she does with 23's on snow. If it snows like they say the XC ski's can come out if not sscx on the train grades and laundry room intervals. So winter is now here and I have to say lets get it over with bring on the spring so bike and can be ridden and skin can be shown. Until then stay warm and keep the wheels turning.

Follow the leader

Left the shop and it was only 32 out or at least that is what the bank said. Dress in layers and shed at the top. Good group for this late in the year, with all the leaves on the ground and the ground semi frozen we had some fun to be had. I asked that we go the wrong way as much as we could to change things up and for the most part the crew was into it. That is until I said we should go up the French Connection. To me it is just like some donkey kong riding switch after switch. Saw some crashing the young kid NJ was out and he ate it over some logs and i managed to wheelie out trying to make a corner. Nothing broken just some contusions. Supposed to get cold around here with some snow so i am glad that I got out this weekend. Hate to have to hang up the bike for the winter..

Roadrunner

I am able to handle the 30's esp.. when the sun is out. Great to get out today and ride on the road bike, felt weird with the ability to shift. I was nice and warm thanks to the layers andthe woollies from Twin Six. If you have not checked these guys out yet do so great stuff for on and off the bike and good ideas for Christmas for that bike nerd in your family. It is quite out in the farm land nothing but gun shots and weird looks from cows. Three good climbs includingThis one. Good dinner tonight and off to go ride the Wily up at the Proving Grounds with Kings and Knuckles and whom ever may show up for a ride. No Packers tomorrow so we can ride for a bit longer than a normal sunday.
