A night at the Kingsbrey

I have not spent to much time riding in the dark but I got out tonight with a little help from some friends and their lights. Meet up with kings at the top of the bluff and we got down to work. It was easier than I expected and we had a blast. I felt like i could have kept going but need to be at the home. Correct me if I am wrong but beer is food right? Don't think that I am getting enough calories. Last race of the wors this weekend my bets are on the Creep. I am going to miss out but I have bigger things on my plate.. I am hungry must eat more..

515 in the house

Sweet looking bikes and nice landscapes, new to come and faster horizons. Now all the pieces need to fall in to place. Spread out and caffeinated. With nothing to be raced it is time to ride.

One gear and lots of beer

Notsoberfest What a concept. The best part of the day was going out and riding single speed mountain bikes. 7 guys all with one gear and most with big wheels. Good fun riding trails backwards and forwards made the trails seem new. With all the leaves that are on the ground also give it a bit of "stay on your toes",,,, leaves can make things tricky. After 30 miles and two hours on the bike I got to take a nap a get ready for the night to come. Anna and I headed off to Pickles party a keg of beer and brats can't go wrong. Hung out talked shit listened to EPO talk about his freezer. Anna had bigger plans she wanted to check out the Fest grounds and see what she was missing all these years. Ok to me the beer garden was not what I was thinking it would be, I was expecting large chested women handing out beer while umpa umpa music played. NOT>>>>>>>> It was one line for tickets and another for beer and loud bad music and a lot of drunk people.. It was almost enough crap to make someone not want to drink beer.....I said almost. So I can say that I have been there and done it and if I want a crazy party I'll get the kids hepped up on sugar and rock out to tunes while the old lady shot guns PBR'S.. I know i sound old and lame..

Friday

Just another day in my life rolling on the single cross sure makes getting from point A-B more fun ,just kind of different able to jump more than on the road bike. I guess the reflective tape works on the new jacket. Saw lot of wildlife while the punk was rocked. This is the weekend of the world famous not-sober-fest it is going to get crazy. Hose here is cooking up brats, at the shop kind of an employee party except I still was working. Last day of our cost plus ten deal on bikes.. Sold a few nice one's today. Getting out with the freaks from the shop for a ride in the woods. Should be fun then off to the drinking. Hose said he cooked the brats in High Life for two hours sound like a good bath. This last shot is the calm before the storm this is riverside, A place where drunk college kid try to swim the Mississippi. GOOD LUCK!!

TNWC

I have not gone on one of these Tuesday night World Chamipon group rides all summer so it was my chance last night. We went in to Minnesota and rode on some bike path that was effected by the floods of last month. The damm thing felt like the cobbles of northern France. Not knowing the riders style I was a bit weary of all the crap on the path and carbon wheels that wouldn't track right . We went up a good long climb up to the top of Nodine hill and across the ridge then dropped back to the Mississippi. It was fun, i still like going and riding the hills around here in Wisco better but going to another state to ride works. Now I would rather ride a bike with only one gear.

Phat Lady

Well yesterday could have been it for 2007. First off all I would like to say Thanks to WILY , TWIN 6 , SUN RACE , MAVERICK and HOLLYWOOD . Not to forget my family that puts up with me leaving every weekend and anyone else that has helped and i may have missed. Yesterdays race could not have been better. Good group at the line and a loud GO. I followed the lead out of the guys who had call ups. Waited to see what was going to happen and made a move. At first we were all still together through the first few climbs, one more move and this one stuck. Now off the front it was all about getting more distance between me and the chasers. At the end of the day rolled 1st in the single and 4th over all not a bad day. It was a good season of racing and I am all ready looking froward to next year some new things on the horizon. Now it is time to get Anna healthy and get things back to normal here. Thanks all....

Out

I am a home body and don't do much epically at night. But last night the guys from the shop were getting togother at Knigs house so I had to go. J set me up with one of his lights to get home with so I was set. I swung in to the shop to switch bike and we were off. Friday nights in a college town can be scary all the frat boys have on to much clone and the girls are all whored up. Lucky I was just going to hang with a bunch of dirt bag bikers. The best part of the night for me was flying through town on the single cross at top speeds. the 44x17 never felt so good. Took the long way home and enjoyed to darkness. Quick day of work today and racing tomorrow. We are having a sale at work employee pricing on bikes, should make a busy day.. What would Gibby do?

Jive Turkey

The voices sometimes get to loud and it is hard to see straight but when it gets to be to much I go and climb. The hills offer the feedback to remind me why I am here. The days keep getting shorter and memories of riding and smelling the first snow are still strong. I miss the freaks the heckler and ball , coach , krash and all the other randoms that filled in the back ground of my silly cartoon of a life. Riding has been good I hope that I don't scare away the ones that offer the help. Another test this weekend and I want a better grade. soon the cold will be here and flying down hills at 49+mph wont happen. Tonight on county S I almost hit two 30 lb wild turkeys. That would have sucked and hurt bad... It would not have been good.. Sleep eat repeat. Some dirt on the WILY tomorrow that is a good drug.....

Heavy

With the the winds of change comes the weather of fall. Days getting shorter and daylight fading fast. Warmer clothes are coming to help regulate the temps. Miles still pilling up just smaller piles. At least one more this weekend hope the legs work and move. Another weekend and the Brothers have again ripped the legs off once again. After a keger at Anna's cousins body and brain is still tired. More miles to come longer saddle time just need to find the time. Sugary looms on the horizon. WHOOOOOO PARTY

Who is your Grandaddy

I forgot about cold... This morning on the way in was by the coldest I have felt since leaving Breckenridge. The boy didn't want to dress warm so I closed the plastic cover on the Burley and he just sang songs the whole way to stay warm. It is time for some new clothes stuff to stay warm. Riding turns from lots of volume to getting the work done when I can. Anna is going in for her sugary first week of Oct so time to start planning that. At least I don't have to buy a ski pass.

Had a good climb up Grandadas don't know if it is faster just like doing it in the big ring.

Iola is a week and a half away no event for me this weekend. Other than Plow Cow's 40th party.

Sunday Sunburst

The Sunburst was a good day on the bike and a lot of driving to get there. It took three hours each way to make it to the race,,,lots of football on the radio. Sorry Johnny The PACK is back.. Thanks to Wily The bike rode like a dream and climbed even better, I did fell like I could have run one more tooth. And the good folks at Rudy for helping me see and cover my head. And of course to Hollywood for giving me colors to fly. The race course was was set up with good climbs and fast swooping downs could not have asked for more. Now the question is to do the next one in Iola or not. Well have to see things are going to get crazy as we get closer to Anna's surgery. I like riding my bike it is good old fashion fun. Passion

Totally in love with his bike James fell a sleep on the way to the HPT race.

He did great I think that the trikster would have been better than his onespeed with training wheels. he had a blast and got a medal and a water bottle. Sophia did a 3.5 mile run with her aunt laura did the whole thing in one hour. Me I had my first flat of the year on dirt I was flying and I think that I just pinched because I was trying to run lower pressure. I opted to not change the flat because of the skerters they were eating people alive. Good night with pig and good beer . great to see all the folks having fun in the dirt trails. Wors to come long drive but I hear it is a great race.

Jerry is big in france

After a day on the MTB and a full day in the pool I am a little toasted. The ride on the bluff yesterday was great. I took out the new nanoraptors and really like the way they rode, smooth and fast. Good in the pool fun to watch james swim like a freak. Te family and I went up to Trempealeau for some frisbee throwing and food neat little city could have some smoking single track if the effort was there. Pig eating tonight and TT at the HPT should be a hoot then School tomorrow so no more kids needing something to do. USA swept the SSWC Craig is on fire.

Red To Black

New roads tonight ideas from the Happy Mutant. The only issue was the Loose Gravel some parts were not that bad but then holy shit was boards of gravel. Scary at speed and now that I have been riding gloveless it freaks me out. The ride was a nice way to spin out the mind after the Hell of a day at work. People buying bikes finally sold the last Giant,,hope the guys is happy cheap for full carbon. Last TT at HPT of the summer on monday I guess I should give it a go .. Only a week until the next WORS.. Step it up!!!

Slip in the Sky

Well the old man is still snoring!!! and Man did it pour today. I was 2 miles away from home when it hit right before the skies opened up I saw a truck pull over and I thought oh shit did I piss this guy off. But to my surprise it was Chad the Happy Mutant. I jumped in and he zipped me home. Sheets of rain and the kid was out running with the XC team. Talked with Hollywood and now I have visions of a Javlen road bike dancing in my head. A boy can dream. If this weather goes away and the trails dry I may go and ride the dirt.. That means more to come..

Sunny Day

Sun was out like they said that it would be so I was out on the bike. I felt great me and the steel hooked up prefect. Would have loved to gone longer but the wind started to kick up and by the end it beat me down. Took the kids to the pool that is soon going to be closed and the boy was on fire jumping diving and swimming. Swimming half the pool with only one breath. All smiles. Snow has been falling on the peaks in Breck, winter is coming to the old house, Summer will be here for a good long time.

In the Back

How much PBR can your bag hold? I can get a 18 pack in mine. They look at me funny at the gas station when I come in on a bike and leave with beer. Did not ride as much as I wanted today I ended up at work and what a day the first sunny day in a week so a lot of bikes were sold. Tomorrow bikes will be ridden. took the boy out last night and he was doing well up and down hills, smiling and loving his gloves and shammy. We have been getting a lot of box store bikes at the shop one came in on friday that not only was put togother wrong and the breaks did not work but it weighed 40 pounds. That is a boat anchor what is a kid going to do with that? Something has to change their not only are the bikes death traps but they are going to take the fun out of riding for kids. Old man is snoring

When it rains the way it did and has this is what happens.. That is why pavement is a good thing. Now it just needs to stop raining so i can ride. Thier is a dirt TT this weekend but I think I am going to opt out and get in some road miles . Next wisco race is on the 9th and they call it a hill race. The folks here at the shop don't like the climbing races. Ski hills sounds like home..

Walking The Cow

Legs are tired but not from riding from running. I guess that I am ready for cross. I don't run as well as I would like. Took the bike to work today to get it cleaned up. I have to say thanks to Wily the 29 was the best choice when i could ride. Got another picture from Rusty from Fatties and Beer. This was the start so I was not covered with shit yet. Work was hard today slow because of the rain and with the amount of flooding people had other stuff to do than buy bikes. I did get to see a bunch of cool photos of the Trek show lots of 9er stuff coming out and steel bikes .....Steel is Real///.../ I was able to get my bike clothes cleaned the

I wanted an ARC

Well I made it through. The worst rains in years hit the stated and we rode bikes in it . Some places here in the greater lacrosse area got around 10" of rain. At the race course at Mount Morris it started as only a drizzle. The big guns finished up and it was our turn. GOOOOOOOO way yelled and we were off. Not knowing the guys that I was up against I moved up to the front and started to move. I was really impressed on the course the sweet single and nice flowing climbs. Then it broke loose the trail became beyond greasy even with the right air pressure you could not hold a line. I soon saw one of the singles go down. Aid came fast, we pushed on. That was lap one 2 more to go. My bike sounded like a geared bike that had been run through a muddy sand bog. Jerry soon caught on and said to hold his wheel and stay up right. I was just happy to do the latter. After running up and down the race course I was done some where in lap 2 my front break was done ground to the bit not good!!!!! So I was just happy to finish. Rolled across in 2nd place 1min and some seconds behind jerry. We hosed down the bikes and were off to Two Lakes where I ate abig steak and drank Point Beer. Would I do it again probably do I want to no .... My bike is trashed and I look froward to the Road Bike. After looking at the results at the Wors page they had me in the wrong CAT. They'll fix it I want to come back and take on the field on a day that the stuff is drier. Happy 2 is not bad.

When you got your first pair of bike shorts is this what you did? James could not handle the fact that he had spandex. He even got a small pair of fox full finger gloves.. needless to say he went to be in all of it. Now just need a jersey. Cold and rainy and we are getting ready to east for a race. Dirty

Had a nice ride on the bluff today before work. Called the bike builder kid Samwich and we hit it The meadows were moist with dew and the trails were butter. Nice tack good fun ride bike rode well and the DFL was in full force. Went to work and saw a Lemond that I have never seen a WAYAZATA . Pretty cool want to get my hands on one of those going to be hard to find because they don't make it anymore. Might be a mudfest this weekend, hope not but that is racing.

Stinky Britchs

Took the kid out for a road ride , it was beautiful night she was in her usual mood of being a fun preteen. She was too lead the way and show me a new route but she had a whine problem about adv speed so every time she complained i sprinted off the front. This only made her even more more mad. Good ride even with all the noise help fill my volume for the week. Rain today might try later in the PM. The tape worm is in full effect can't get enough food .

Run what you brung

I was worried after all the rain last night that I was going to be pushing to much gear and my tires would not handle the mud. But it all worked out. i have come back from all of the MN races saying nothing but good. This was an awful race course. The single track was good all 30%of it but the rest was grass 0 track. Not even 2 track it was as if someone took a lawn mower out and said lets race. Seth was there and gave it a go on the first 1/2 lap so when I came around I gave it a little extra and was gone. This was good practice for the race on sunday in wisco.There it should be a little a little deeper because it is wors. It is a shame that MN can't get it's act together and put on a better race series. Time to put in some more miles and get ready for some more racing. Thanks to Wily The bike rode sweet did all that it had to do go fast. And thanks to Twin 6 for keeping me looking good and to Hollywood for super sweet bibs keeping the ass happy. Now all Mn needs is to embrace the Single Speed.

Dipped

I made it on tho the end of the friday night group ride. the usual suspects were there always a fast group. People were complaining about the heat but it was not bugging me I think my years in AZ help a lot. Anyone who says it is a dry heat is full of shit. When I mad it to the to of the hill and almost to the trails I saw a deer running along side of the horses I thought wow and as I looked to my right to see the city I was amazed by the sight of a black bear running back in to the woods. I got a pretty good look at him, not something you see everyday. A good friday with some nice distance, legs felt good after the mountain bike ride. Work today race tomorrow.

Fucken Jerry Lewis

Back on the horse again thanks to PICKEL. Who said that drug reps were bad people, some of the nicest people i have ever known were drug sellers. I was so happy to roll and going to try to as Cross Freak says dubble dip today and ride with the group ride in the evening. The new kit got here yesterday soooo nice to have a new shammy thanks to Hollywood for that it will be nice to fly the colors for the rest of the MN races. I have some work to do to get the miles back up to where they belong. The Wily is felling good on the dirt and wants to play more... A bummer shout out goes out to my sister and her husband they lost their dog the other day.. Tolkin is gone so pour a high life on the ground lost is a funny looking zebra.

DEKCUF

Well it is Fucked,,,, the hub is cracked on the flange which is why the spoke broke.. Pain in the ass.. Think I need a new sport I hear Curling is good fun .. Regardless the rim was way messed up because of the tension so I got some aggression out on the rim now i know what it looks like in cross section.

Seeing RED!!!

Red I am seeing Red ... Pissed ready to throw shit and call it a day.. I have broke more Spokes on the road bike than I ever have in all my days of riding. I went out 7:00 pm just enough time to know out a nice 30 miler. But ahhhhhhh shit..9 miles away from the house it happens and now in the rear. It breaks with so much force that it made me wobble. I didn't go down but i wobbled . The wheel was so Fucked that it would not roll through the frame. Now I am walking for about 2 miles with a bile over my shoulder and the dark coming. Finally a nice guy in a pickup truck stops and asks if i need a ride he was the 30th or so to pass me almost all the other bubba's smiled and pointed at the guy in spandex. Why can't I get this bike to work with out problems it has never been the same since that dumb fuck crashed into me,,,,Do i buy new wheels or just keep fixing what I got. Oh well just messing with the volume of the week... I just want to ride my bike..

Chili Mac

Went for a ride in the woods after dinner and the trails were sweet had to ride with a bit of ease because the logs and rocks were slick. Good way to end the week one small washout the front end dug in to some soft dirt on darkside but other than that it was sweet like the new way up changes everything with the big climb.

Good old Stevil came through with the dead fucking last jersey, so i took it out for a ride with the kid. It should come in handy come cross time. Now just waiting on the kit from Hollywood that should make me fell fast. Sophia and I had a good ride before the rain set in . Took her over to grandmas for the annual Brat day. Family gets together and eats brats and drinks beer. Sounds like a normal weekend. Good volume this week I was looking for a bit more but the rains have put a kbash on that. We need the rain 210 will have to do. Welch next weekend then the subarau cup. Can't let the voices affect my head just have to keep the wheels spinning.. SUPERSUCKERS in the twin cities oct 6.. Could be a good loud time teh evil power of rock n roll...

Shit and the Fan

My computer is a pile of shit and I don't think that I can justify a new one yet to many other big things going on.. Frist and foremost we need to get anna fixed. We have all the test results back and it is better than it could be but she will still need to go under the knife. The bike miles are piling up and the legs feel good wish that I could have been back home to give Coach a run for his money last night. 9er's are gooder

The Kid partied to hard last night at her cousins house so she did not have much to bring today. She was in the mix but could not close the deal. Tried and underfed can't wait till she is a teenager. I had an good day had a good lead out from one of the Hollywood guys and then took over. Small single field with all the other races going on.. Thanks to Wily and the good folks at Twin Six and of course Coach for the super awesome Grips .The way the bike felt today with the grips and the gear 34x19 I was flying. Two weeks until the next test a place where I raced skis in high school. More time on the MTB and more road miles to go. Have fun and spin the wheels.

Ride like a chicken

Sun Race Thanks David.. and got some new grips from Coach. The mountain bike rode great today had to dial in the grips but the ride was sweet, warm it was 89 with a lot of humidity. Getting used to it just have keep moving. Another Minnesota race this weekend weather is going to be some what cooler lower humidity. I think thatThe Kid is going to go back to citizen the sport race is long than she is ready for with the heat, let her have fun and rock out next summer. Not to upset about the tour I think that it is good that people are be punished unlike the stick and ball sports that are getting away with what ever they want. Good job let make the spot clean...

Dirt Therapy

Some times all you need is some dirt and things are good. pushing a bigger gear today to see how it fells. Good to be in the woods climbing hills it made me smile.. The clog in my kitchen sink not making me smile. The Chicken is skinny ,,,for years I have been told that I have chicken legs but I look like a fatty fat fat next to him.. I have some work to do. Got to watch most of todays stage and it was a good one , It will be fun to see what happens tomorrow. Life back on track with the babysitter back. RAT FINK

Morons Tools and Fools, I get to see a little bit of everything at the shop all kinds of idiots. I mean no harm to the mental instable they can be fun as long as they leave but it is the ones that don't understand why their box brand bike wont stay in tune or why you need the coupon from the paper to get the special. In the magic kingdom that I come from in the spring and fall the local shops would run a 2 for 1 special on food or tune ups but all of them you needed to have the coupon or buy something else. Ever so often a jackass would make a seen to get the deal and they would get it because they we a shit head and could not swim with the rest of the fish. So to all of the random fuck heads who think that the world owes them something you are wrong. The weather is great for riding a bike what is your excuse?

Things change hair styles change people change . Bikes Change! The new front end is lighter and more responsive I like it small things make a big difference. Am i still mad and the dumb ass that ran in to me,,,Yea I am but sometimes in life you just have to say what the fuck. Time and light were not going to be in my favor tonight I wanted to ride the Wily but you cant always get want. I had a great ride sweet hills fun climbs nice roads low buba factor 30 mile of butter.. I mite be a mountain biker with a road habit but I don't give a F$#%. I am still on a bike and my mortgage is lower.. Living a dream?

Back from the dead chili n live a villain.... After a brief trip to the doctors the computer is back up and running. Faster and no bugs at least not yet.. Small fee but the best I could find. Off today from work the babysitter is on vacation.. Had a jam packed weekend with the kids birthday , took her on a trip up bliss road which is still closed. Sound like the folks in the county are not as nice as we thought after catching a guy involved in a hit and run they have closed the case because he work with the cops to help the investigation. It was still a hit and run with bodily harm, and the guy goes free?? It means that you have to watch out at all times.. People bitch about cyclist on the roads but they still eat their Big mac's and text message and floss their teeth.. 5 17 year old girls in NY state died in a car wreck driving while text messaging .. Miles are still stacking up no racing until end of july so going to ride as much as possible. the Wily Is felling so nice I think that it likes the fact that it is only out once or twice a week. Which makes the Lemond the work horse. The amount of miles that have been put on this bike are funny at least the front end is all new.. More to come and farther to go..

Boob Cheeks

We are now Wisco folks Anna and I got the van registered and new driver license. Day off today and the weather could not have been better high of only 75 and a nice cool breeze. After a much needed nap and some espresso I headed out on the

Wily and went up to HPT but this time I went a different way. I have been seeing in on maps and have been told that you can do it so I tried. From County Road B I went up on an old paved/dirt road up to the quarry. Great climb reminded me of something back home with a 1 1/2 miles of climbing . Looked so much different with out the trees and this is all land that is owned by the city and it is going to be turned in to MTB trails as part of the HPT. Fun new way up less time spent near busy roads and closer to the house. Felt good to be out on the Mountain Bike for over 2 hours good mile and fun trails lots of climbing. Going to get the road bike fixed up tomorrow King sent the race kit and the fork is ready so now I will no longer have to ride on a cracked carbon fork.

Hot Kato

The family and I loaded up the van and went North to hang with Steve and Denise at her family reunion. Saw more Coconino t-shits in one spot than anywhere before. Good fun Beer drinking and boating. Steve looked good moving around and still the same old soul. Kids had fun and we got to catch up on old times. Morning came to soon , sophia was not having it she could have slept much longer but we were off. Hot today and she was ready to go. Again we were sent off with the 30 year olds and I just shot for the hole.. Gone no one came with it was hot 94 coming around for my last lap I came up to sophia and she was not having to much fun had the chills and cheeks were bright red. She asked if she could be done and I said .. then she cheered me on and I but the hammer down I wanted to win. I did , not a huge field today and a lot of riders. The bike rode sweet thanks Wily and the Twin 6 gear look great on the trail.. And thanks to race face for getting my cranks replaced for the first time all summer the bike did the job prefect .. Rage "N" Full On

Rage ,,,Not a violent person but I could have lost it and gone to Blows the other day. The afternoons have some pm thunderstorms kind of like back home . Strong and out of no where,, Ok so going home and it is dumping and I am on the city bike path people are caught in it I was ready and just wanted to get home. As i go through the marsh i see a guy coming and in my lane. I yell and yell but he does not move I didn't want to swerve into his lane and open my self up for a T-bone, so I started to ride in to the grass to avoid the crash, As I this I am still yelling and he puts his head up and slams into me in the grass. So not only was he going the wrong way but came all the way over in to the grass to hit me. Slam 20 miles an hour to complete stop handle bars twisted shifter cracked and wheels tweaked. I still have 8 mile to go to get home and need to get to the babysitters to get the boy. Well I let him have it with a steam of foul language and insults of his intelligence. All he could say was the he could not see and had no idea that he was on the wrong side of the path.. I had to let my Breaks all the way out just to get home.. I was not happy.. Went back to the shop after dinner and my wheels were saved by Kid Nate and my bike rolls again. As for my body my Right leg got banged up from being hit by a rolling boat anchor and a dumb ass in a Tool shirt. Wednesday morning brought a change in plans on Firecracker this year but a group ride from the shop south. I did not have as much time as the rest of the folks so I did about 50 and they ended up doing almost 70. Good group new faces and new rider.The Kid Nate had a new bike under him now just needs to get a hair cut. My leg was sore on climbs from what ever jammed into it. The big Race in Breck saw Will take the single win he is strong I have lined up with him before and Krash Carlstead #2 and Travis #3... Great to see the boys up front.. This could be the spark that Krash needed.. More miles to go and so little time to get there. Mankato this weekend and beer drinking with Steve Garro .. Be good to each other..

Burned Out

My drive train on the road bike has seen to much work load and the drive train is fried. Sun Race has some new parts on the way which will help out huge.. They even said I can get a set of the new drive and shifters come fall ,,that should be nice. I got to play with a Campy TI cassette today holy shit it is light,, and for 600$ it should be. The fourth is coming and my ride will be the loudest in the group...But I can stillll go fast... Good luck all you all...

Hype this bitch up.....the boys back home are in form and ready for the 50.. Folks are coming from near and far for this one. Mean while here in wisco the Brothers Creep and Darkness did it again destroying the field in a WORS race.The boys from work had a good showing Toss was 4th and E rock in 6th not bad for the home team. My self a Mtb ride that had me almost stick TNT missed it by that much.. I will get it soon. Beer Brats and Bikes... no racing but a good sunday,,,now work starts.. Thanks for the had ups coach..
